Nishikawa to voice new DESTINY character UPDATED AGAIN
Sunrise officially announced that T.M. Revolution's Takanori Nishikawa is voicing the new character Haine Westenfluss. The character is an elite pilot belonging to Athrun's Faith and uses the "Gouf Ignited".

Edit: A further explanation for the spelling, as I see it. The name seems to be German in origin, ハイネ being "Heine". But that's not the interesting thing. His last name seems to be the combination of two separate German words, ヴェステン (westen), and フルス (fluss). And, in German, "westen" means "west" and "fluss" means "river". Why is that interesting? Because that's exactly what the two kanji in 西川 (nishikawa) mean in Japanese as well, "west" + "river". Thanks to this Japanese-German site for helping make that connection.

UPDATE 2: Haine was the name Nishikawa went by early in his career as the vocalist for the band named Luis-Mary.

1. I choose Gundam in general.
2. Like lacus, I am going to write about general pet peeves in the fandom.

Err.. there are spoilers, so don't read unless you have seen the end of Gundam SEED.

1. The fact that most UC and AU fans cannot get along. No need to explain.

2. This a fanfic one-- writing your own Gundam series and putting it in the fanfiction section (i.e. set in a new universe, new characters, new Gundams). Now, some are well written, but most are not. And it's not exactly fanfiction.

3. Okay... this one is surely odd... reminding everyone that Mwu died. I hate when people write in forums, "Mwu is dead, get over it!" in big, bold letters. Yeah, I know I'm pathetic, but Mwu was (and still is) my favorite SEED character, and it pisses me off when people do that. Geez, is it wrong to have a little hope? Apparently so, hence the reason why they write it in big, bold letters. Argh, there is more to this one, but I am not going to get into, because I don't want to start an argument.

4. Really, really, bad fanfics, normally associated with Gundam Wing. Fanfics that make nooo sense whatsoever. Okay, that's not really odd...

5. Feeling like whatever I say in a Gundam forum is not respected. I'm pretty much a lurker on GSN, and the only Gundam forum I feel comfortable posting in is Sutoraiku. Gundam fans are vicious.

I just got my Animerica issue for November in the mail today (which means it's slightly late), and of course, the first page I open to has a blurb on SEED Destiny. I shall be kind and type it for everyone:

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny

Gundam's biggest hit in over a decade returns for round 2. Destiny takes place two years after the first SEED series and focuses on young Shin Asuka (who looks eerily like a less constipated Kira in the wrong uniform). Shin is one of the genetically enhanced "Coordinator" aces who enlisted with the ZAFT colony freedom fighters after Earth Alliance forces supposedly massacred his family. Familiar faces from the first SEED make cameos-- although they're not necesarily recognizable at first glance...
